Health News: More Women Die of Lung Cancer Than of Breast Cancer

Smoke like a man, die like a man.

The Associated Press reported that U.S. women who smoke today have a much greater risk of dying from lung cancer than they did decades ago, partly because they are starting younger and smoking more — that is, they are lighting up like men, new research shows.

Women also have caught up with men in their risk of dying from smoking-related illnesses. Lung cancer risk leveled off in the 1980s for men but is still rising for women.

About seven or eight years ago I read the book 'Good To Great' by John Collins. He discussed how to take a mediocre or good company and turn it into a great company. Years later, the one thing that still stands out in my mind is how he discussed getting the right people on the bus. The "bus" refers to the team moving in a forward motion toward greatness. This concept can be applied to business as well as your everyday living. Who did you let on your bus? And please believe, everyone does not deserve a seat! I guess, he thinks he will sew her mouth shut in front of his family and colleagues. Why do you constantly look for a dime when you are a four!

Tomorrow is election day, lets go to the polls and let our voices be heard. Change only happens if we want it and it does not happen over night or because we hope for it. We must take action! Like in all areas of our lives, change and greatness take time. The same concept applies to our government and most everything else. Little steps, like each of us going to the polls, allow the bigger strides to happen, like policy changes! Come on, go to the polls and let them know we plan to win, win, win!!!

I had a fabulous weekend! I was able to get major goals planned out and implemented. I must say this happened because of the team I have around me. When you are starting a new chapter in your life, who are your "real" supporters? You know, the ones that cheer you on every step of the way. The ones that offer their help and support; and really do what they say. Do you realize you are only as good as the company you keep? It is easy to move forward when you surround yourself with positive, like minded individuals. Are you mindful of the company you keep?
