Jeremy Scott Spring-Summer 2016

Jeremy Scott's Spring-Summer collection is a fun eighties party mixed with a dab of pop culture.

Backstage at his show Scott described his latest collection as “cool kids in the Eighties: the Lower East Side, Mud Club, CBGB madness, early John Waters films,”.

Carolina Herrera Spring 2016

“This is my rose period,” Carolina Herrera said during a preview. “Fashion should be optimistic.”

And so it is - optimistic chic to be exact. Herrera's RTW Spring 2016 collection offers plenty of range filled with pleats, shears and pinks.

The House of Givenchy, under the initiative of Artistic Director Riccardo Tisci, showed an exceptional collection in New York. The city represents the capital of the American dream for the designer and for the founder Hubert de Givenchy, who were both supported from the very beginning by the American market.

Last Thursday, Harlem's Fashion Row hosted it's annual style awards and fashion show.

HFR presented the spring 2016 collections of t The Fashion Deli, M-Sew and Fe Noel “My objective was to present an alternative narrative to African design,” explained Thulare Monareng of The Fashion Deli, a retail platform for African designers. “From what I see, there’s this one-dimensional idea of what African design is, which is very print- and wax print-based.”

HFR Style Award honorees included actress Tracee Ellis Ross, designer Azede Jean-Pierre, stylists Rachel Johnson, Misa Hylton and Groovey Lew, TV host Bevy Smith, InStyle editor Kahlana Barfield and Macy’s.

Harlem's Fashion Row was founded in 2007 by Brandice Henderson as a platform for people of color in the fashion industry.

Giorgio Armani's 40th Anniversary

Giorgio Armani celebrated his 40th anniversary on Thursday.

Armani started the day with a tour of his new museum and exhibition space, Silos. With 600 of his signature looks are on display at the venue, Silos recounts the 40-year history of his fashion legacy. Armani said he doesn’t like to refer to Silos as a museum. “I don’t want this space to be static; [I] plan to renew the displays with pieces from the new collections every six months,” he explained.

Afterwards guests attended a runway show at his theater. The show consisted of selections from the designer’s Privé collections over the years.

Supermodel Gisele Bids Farewell to the Runway

Gisele Bundchen walked her final catwalk, last Wednesday, during Sao Paulo Fashion Week for street style brand, Colcci.

The 34-year-old Brazilian mother of two, who is married to NFL quarterback Tom Brady, has said she wants to spend more time with her family but has also vowed to continue working in the industry.

In an interview broadcast on the Globo television network Wednesday, she compared her life to a cup of water filled to the brim. "If your cup is full, how are you going to put more into it?" she said in Portuguese. "I'm emptying my cup so I can put more things into it."

Bundchen's career spans two decades and has made her an international household name. According to Forbes, she is the highest paid model in the world, grossing an estimated $47 million in 2014.

Janelle Monae Live NYFW Soundtrack

NEW YORK (AP) - Models on Rebecca Minkoff's New York Fashion Week runway will be strutting to the live music of Janelle Monae.

Monae will sing at Friday's show at Lincoln Center as part of "American Express Unstaged," a program that pairs artists of different mediums and makes their collaborations available to the public through digital media, including a live stream of the catwalk.

New York Fashion Week kick off event was The Heart Truth Fashion Show. Celebrities came out in their symbolic red dress to show their support for the national Heart Truth campaign. The campaign's goal is to give women a personal and urgent wakeup call about their risk of heart disease.

With February being heart health month, make sure to show your support by wearing a little something red each day. And if the opportunity arises, slip into a beautiful red dress!

Last Wednesday, Grand Life Daily and Joe Exclusive started New York Fashion Week off in pure hauteness! The showcase featured four Destination 1610 Designers: Abeyo & Marqz, Crave Girl, Sacred Heart Collection and Head Banger Accessories.

GRAND Style: Dior Homme RTW Fall|Winter 2012

Military uniforms was Kris Van Assche's inspiration for the Dior Homme Ready-To-Wear Fall|Winter 2012 collection. Van Assche said marrying tailoring to sportswear was his primary mission this season, and the soldier theme left him lots of room to maneuver.
