Tilky Jones: The Actor and Rock Star

Tilky Jones is an undisputed hottie! Tilky plays the innocent and edgy K.C. who is the love interest of Stacey Dash (Val). Tilky tells us how he felt working with Stacey Dash: “I got really lucky on this set, you know a lot of times you kind of have to force the chemistry with some of the people you act with but she is so unbelievably professional and it was just very, very natural working with her”. 

While Tilky loves to act his first love is music. He is currently part of the band Tilky and the Brigade, where he is the lead singer.

GLD: Tell us about KC.
TJ:  I think KC is the perfect mixture of innocent and edgy.  I think he kind of started out just wanting to have fun with her and on his end I think it became a little more serious than he expected. He didn’t expect to fall so head over heels for her.

GLD:  How do you relate to KC's character?
TJ:  He’s not really trying to stir up too much drama, like I think of a lot of male characters on the show. He just has the most honest intent in terms of his relationship with Val.  That’s pretty much how I coach my relationships as well on a personal level.




GLD:  I know that you're hearing  everyone comparing ‘Single Ladies’ to ‘Sex and the City’ and ‘Girlfriends‘, you know I have to ask you this question; how do you think KC is going to compare to Big in ‘Sex and the City‘?  Do you think KC's character is going to end up being the Big of ‘Single Ladies‘?
TJ:  That seems to be what’s happening, I haven’t watched a ton of ‘Sex and the City’, but I think they use Big in a way that sort of surprises the audience. You don’t really know when he's coming and that is sort of the same scenerio with KC, he pops in and out a lot of time with out anyone knowing that he’s going to be there.

GLD: What is the chemistry like working with Stacey Dash?
TJ:  The chemistry is amazing with Stacey. I got really lucky on this set. A lot of times you kind of have to force the chemistry with some of the people you act with; but she is so unbelievably professional, it was just very, very natural working with her.  She’s a verteran in the business, so it was just an absolute pleasure working with her.

GLD:  How does it feel working with an all female leading cast?
TJ:  It’s crazy; I mean it’s the best job ever. I’ve done some work as a military character so a lot of times your with all these fellas but on the set of ‘Single Ladies‘, its very female driven so I’m like a kid in a candy store!

GLD:  I see that you were in a band, Take 5, before you got into acting.  What made you come over to acting?
TJ:  I did musical theater so it was kind of a combination of the two, I was singing and acting as a child and did some random national and international commercials and things of that nature then my agent got me involved with TAKE 5. I am currently the lead singer of my band, Tilky and The Brigade. We do a reggae sound with pop vocals.
