Akir teaches his students how to digitally edit music and to use their talent in a positive way. Akir is their teacher and role model. I was able to speak individually with his students and witnessed firsthand exactly why this program is effective. He empowers his students with an invaluable since of pride, knowledge and most importantly hope. They doing something that they enjoy and are able to focus their energy in a positive way.
He has created a relationship with his students that encourage them to strive and conquer their dreams. I asked, how his students inspire him, he said “they make me more aware, more responsible because I have to walk the walk not just talk”. Akir only speaks from experience when he tells them all the possible rewards and success that they could receive with hard work and dedication.
Akir has consistently worked toward his hip-hop career, having been on over a dozen tours around the globe. He has rocked -out stages as far away as Morocco, where there was an audience of 30,000. He has released numerous mixtapes. As we dug deeper into his rap career he mentioned his musical inspirations were Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye and Slick Rick.
Akir releases a song every Sunday, showing his support and understanding of all the hardships people endure around the world; he calls it ‘Supporter Sundays’. Akir is full of knowledge and feels it is his duty to share with the world. And we thank him!
