The 918 Spyder Hybrid

At $845,000 excluding destination and handling charges, the new plug-in hybrid Porsche 918 Spyder is the brand’s most expensive production model built to date. Porsche has further confirmed that the dealers around the world have begun taking orders for the luxury hybrid 918 sports car. The 918 Spyder has 718 horsepower on tap and a fuel economy of more than 78 mpg based on the European combined driving cycle. The design has been inspired from the Carrera GT as well as the Porsche 917 and RS Spyder race cars. The production version, which is based on a carbon fiber monocoque, boasts a manual roof system with removable roof panels.

The plug-in hybrid will be equipped with a 500-horsepower, 4.0-liter V8 engine and two electric motors capable of 218 horsepower. The hybrid can sprint from 0-62 mph in just 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of 199 mph. If you’ve got the cash, you better get in the line right now, as Porsche has plans to build only 918 examples of the vehicle. Deliveries begin November 2013, if you can really wait for two years.

FlyRuby.com, for the REAL Jet-Setters

FlyRuby.com is a new booking site for private jets, to get you going where you want to go, without the hassle.  The FlyRuby website was developed to make private charter travel more efficient.  FlyRuby gives travelers the ability to book exactly what they want, when they want it, without having to search through a variety of private planes and pilots. FlyRuby is best described as "Travelocity for Private Planes".  Rather than having to make your own flight arrangements (i.e., getting your plane and your pilot to go), FlyRuby lets you go with just a few mouse clicks.

First decide where you're going, where you're coming from and the basic details like when you want to leave and how many guests are traveling. Next choose the jet that is right for you, based on price and performance. Then you buy your jet and you're good to go.  For example a flight for 4 from JFK to Miami on a Hawker 800xp will cost about $24,600.  Now comes the hard part, choosing what to pack and when to leave!

Until next time kiddies enjoy, indulge and fantasize!
