German auto maker Mercedes Benz announced plans at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes to launch it's first fragrance for men. The new fragrance is simply called Mercedes-Benz and will be available in special retail stores.
The luxury car maker is not new to fragrances and perfumes, those who drive a Maybach or Mercedes-Benz S 600 Pullman already know the exclusively developed fragrance for those select models. Now the company has decided to tackle the prestige fragrance market and go more main-stream with it.
Mercedes says its men's perfume combines woody notes with freshness of flowers. The cool top note features Calabrian bergamot, lemon essence and Italian mandarin. The middle note is a warm, spicy mix of bourbon pepper, nutmeg, violet and galbanum resin. The base note provides a spicy finish to the perfume and includes American cedar wood, vetiver grass and patchouli.
Those who are not familiar with describing the scent of a fragrance we at Grand Life Daily are here to help. There are three classes of notes: top/head notes, middle/heart notes, and base notes; which denote groups of smells that can be sensed with respect to the time after the application of a perfume. As the fragrance is for men, Mercedes has designed a masculine and modern bottle. The perfume, which is created in partnership with the INCC Group and adds to the wide range of luxury accessories that include watches and glasses.
Mercedes-Benz cologne will be available as an eau de toilette, after shave, deodorant, shower and body gel in early 2012.
